She soon realized she wouldn't become famous as a sculptor due to the lack of success, and soon decided to shift to hat making. The first fashion house she opened was "Alex Couture" in 1934. Gres is a French fashion house that was founded in 1946. It was one of the five founding members of the Haute Couture fashion houses.
