In 1950 Jean Goldberg, a master tailor, opened a boutique atelier on rue Paradis in Nice, the brand's birthplace. He very quickly became a staple of the French Riviera.  His efforts led to the clothing of era celebrities like Cary Grant and Tony Curtis. His distinctive take on traditional style helped develop the brand swiftly in France.

In 1994, the brand continued to grow; it took on a new challenge by releasing its first fragrance, the Façonnable Eau de Toilette for Men, a smell that embodied the elegance of timelessly traditional yet modern fashion.

Also, Façonnable has been a prominent sponsor of the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, one of the ATP's most famous competitions, since the brand was later acquired by the American luxury department retailer Nordstrom.
