Nicola Trussardi is a premium Italian fashion and lifestyle brand. The company, founded originally as a glove factory in 1911 by Dante Trussardi, quickly made a name for itself in high-end leather goods. In 1965, Nicola Trussardi took over the family business and expanded the company's product selection to include ready-to-wear clothing, leather goods, eyewear, jewelry, profucts for the home and much more. He also brought the brand to its top position through his successful marketing tactics.
The Trussardi family and Nicola Trussardi's business sense regarding the social changes of the 1960s helped propel this company to international fame as a fashion house and luxury lifestyle goods brand. Trussardi adapted a distinct logo to adorn its products and give the brand a unique identifier in the marketplace: The Trussardi Greyhound.
Nicola Trussardi's passion for travel and exotic leathers led to the creation of the Trussardi line. Under his direction, the company expanded from gloves to luggage, handbags, home and office accessories, and leather jackets that were hot in trendiness. The company maintained its commitment to fine Italian craftsmanship, and its reputation as a manufacturer of high-quality items spread around the world. The company's first boutique in Milan was opened in 1976 and remains the company's flagship store. Trussardi goods were exported to the United States and all major markets in Europe.
