The Jaguar story begins in 1925 with the formation of the Swallow Sidecar Company, named after the Swallow motorcycle with which it had won a famous reliability trial. By 1934 it had become Jaguar Cars Ltd and had moved to its present factory site in Browns Lane, Coventry.
