About Tom Ford:

Tom Ford is an American fashion designer and film director. Initially trained as an architect at Parsons School of Design, Tom spent a year working abroad at an internship for fashion house Chloe, developing a feel for the fashion industry. Tom Ford concealed his architecture background, displayed considerable personal charm, and pursued a job in the fashion industry. He soon gained a position at American designer Cathy Hardwick. He accepted a position with Perry Ellis, but was aware of better prospects in Europe. Prestigious Italian fashion house Gucci was struggling at the time, so Ford accepted a position there in 1990 to head up multiple divisions.

Tom Ford returned to the U.S. in 2005 and announced the formation of his own brand. The company offers fashions, accessories, and eyewear with a focus on creating high-end luxurious products. Tom has received favorable reviews in most fashion magazines for its collections of sunglasses, watches, grooming supplies for men, women, pets and home. He has also created a partnership with Estee Lauder that same year wherein they launched fragrances for both men and women. The first fragrance that was launched under this alliance, Black Orchid is an instant success. Tom has produced numerous successful fragrances since then along with his collection of eyewear called Private Blend.
