About The Brand:

Born into an artisan family in the small town of Guernika, in northern Spain's Vizcaya Province, Cristobal Balenciaga Eizaguirre displayed a talent for haute couture while still a teenager. As a tailoring apprentice, he later worked with Jacques Doucet in Paris before returning to Spain in 1914 and opening his own Madrid-based fashion house. His innovations--notably the bias-cut evening gown and the sack dress--earned him renown until his retirement in 1968.

The boy from the Basque province of Gipuzkoa, Cristobal Balenciaga, has stamped his imprint on fashion with a designer bag of ideas, both new and traditional. He created a fabric that revolutionized the idea of wearable technology, being soft to the touch but capable of holding sharp objects, like needles or pencils. He worked with architects to create entire environments for his clothes to live in. And he was sometimes seen walking around Paris late at night to check the vibrancy of his color combinations in natural light.

Be seduced by the scent of Le Dix, the first fragrance introduced under the Balenciaga name. This perfume was named after the address of Balenciaga's boutique in Paris, and is reintroduced today in celebration of the house's 70th anniversary.
